I am excited by this! I just quickly used Google Gemini to create the attached, using the below prompt. I think this is a game changer in using AI in schools and can help any child, of any age, with any interested irrelevant of their reading age.
Here is the prompt so you can have a play using the Storybook feature in Google Gemini (you will need a Google account for this)
“Hi. I am a teacher in a specialist provision for pupils with additional SEMH needs. I have a pupil that although is 7 years old, in phonics he only recognizing the following sounds, s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss, and can only blend (i.e. read) CVC words that contain the sounds he knows (e.g cat, dog, hill). He can also sight read the following words, I, into, the, a. He is very self conscious when he is reading books at his reading ability, as he feels they are ‘very babyish’ as they are aimed at children that are 4 or 5 years old. He likes super heroes, adventure stories and Minecraft. Can you please create a suitable 5 to 10 page story using words that he could decode and read in a subject matter that will interest him?”
