[00:00] hello everybody and welcome back to this quick tip video for Scratch Jr in this video I’m going to show [00:05] you how to make an advanced joyad we’ve already made the basic one in the last video which you can [00:10] see on screen now we’re going to add a jump and a um shoot button so we do the same [00:18] again create an extra button this time we’re going to use blue hopefully there we go that’s going to be [00:27] our jump button we code it exactly the same so we go to our touch start on touch button and [00:34] we go to Blue so now what we want to do is when kitten receives the blue message we are [00:43] going to do a jump so here we go and there you can see kit uh jumping now we’re going [00:52] to add a a shooting button now so we’re going to once again add another character and it’s going to [00:58] be orange this time now Orange it’s orange because orange is our last color in our send and our send [01:09:00] message block so we’ve only got six functions so depending on what else you want to do you might not [01:13:00] be able to do both a jump and a shoe but hey we’ll try um next what we need to [01:18:00] do is create some sort of bullet so I’m going to just create a circle and it’s going to be [01:28:00] black there we go so so there is a bullet now first we need to do when we’re coding the [01:32:00] bullet the bullet needs to move everywhere that the cat does so what we will do is we will copy [01:41:00] the code that we’ve created for the kitten so that it moves so the uh bullets moves with them so [01:48:00] this is the uh blue one and that was a jump if I remember rightly this one here is the [01:54:00] yellow yellow one and that is a left move this one here is going to be a purple this one [02:02:00] here is going to be a red and this one here is going to be oh connect it a green [02:11:00] now notice when we move on the joy pad the bullet and the cat move together so that’s really really [02:19:00] important next what we want to do is depending on what you’re shooting at you’ll need to differ the distance [02:28:00] it goes so what we want to do here is use another send uh receive block move that up so [02:35:00] we can see and this one is going to be orange so when the orange button is pressed we want [02:43:00] the bullet to appear it will disappear in a minute we’ll start it disappeared we want it to move across [02:49:00] from where it is eight let’s just say to 18 so let’s say 10 then what we want it to [02:56:00] do is to disappear I when it hits the object it’s it’s aiming at and then what we want it [03:02:00] to do is we want it go to go back to its original position now that’s all we need it [03:12:00] to do so let’s give that a [03:19:00] test fantastic so let’s go [03:25:00] again great so there is your advanced joystick it goes moves the cat up and down and then also shoots [03:36:00] a bullet hope you enjoy that see you next time
